Hearing Protection Guide - Health - Medicine

While many doctors say there is no cure ringing or buzzing in the ear, many others believe that there are a few things you can try that will relieve or even eliminate the symptoms associated with the ringing sound. Tinnitus is not a disease. Ringing ears may actually be thought of as a warning sign that something is may be wrong with your body. Some of the many possible reasons for ringing or loud buzzing sounds in you ears include extended amounts of exposure to loud noises, a long history of ear infections, a large amount wax build up, in your ear and also stress.

If you have any of these conditions, your personal symptoms may not be the same as someone else who has the same problems. And the causes of your symptoms may not be the same either.

Hearing protection is always advised for the reason of protecting your years from tinnitus. Those who work around loud noises should always wear some type of ear- piece. If you work in a factory, if you are a mechanic, run heavy machinery, or are around any type of noise, you should be concerned with protecting your hearing. Did you know that running a blow dryer is too load for your ears and may cause damage to your hearing?

Many soldiers suffer from tinnitus. The loud sounds associated with the constant firing of weapons, explosions, tank noises, and yelling and screaming from battle often cause major loss in hearing. Obviously during battle or even while training, hearing protection cannot be used. It would be too dangerous and could even lead to death.

Ringing in your ears may range from mild cases to more severe cases. If you have a mild case of tinnitus, you will only be bothered with the ringing or buzzing on occasional times such as when you are in total silence and when the noises surrounding you are not very disturbing or distracting. More severe cases involve a constant ringing that is fairly intense and the buzzing never lets up.

Once your ears have been affected by tinnitus, the ringing is there to stay. While symptoms can be eliminated, the ringing will probably always be there. It may help you to be distracted by the ringing. Listening to white noise or soft music, especially when trying to fall asleep can do this. Hearing protection should never be taken for granted. Always use precaution in order to avoid the problems associated with tinnitus.
